forces that break steel

Properties

Six things steel mesh and garden netting cannot combine.

Non-corroding

Polyester does not rust. Mine water, acid rain and coastal salt fog leave it unchanged — there is no galvanising to wear through and no weld points to break.

Flame retardant

Burns only while a flame is applied and extinguishes once the source is removed, with no molten drip. Measured flame time ≤ 2.9 s; afterglow ≤ 2.2 s.

Anti-static

A conductive additive keeps surface resistance inside the safe band, so the net does not build up charge, does not attract dust, and cannot throw a spark.

UV-stable by nature

UV stability comes from the polyester molecule itself rather than a surface coating that erodes — specified for a 20-year service life.

High tensile

A single strand breaks at 2746 N. Across a one-metre width the knitted mesh carries 102 kN/m.

Lightweight

At 0.8 kg/m² it is a fraction of the weight of a welded steel mesh of comparable pitch — one person can carry and place a roll.

Grades & formats

Same polymer, same mesh, three roll formats.

POLYMERMESH TW-130 high-polymer netting roll, 1.3 m wide
TW-130
1.3 m × 20 m roll
POLYMERMESH TW-150 high-polymer netting roll, 1.5 m wide
TW-150
1.5 m × 40 m roll
POLYMERMESH TW-200 high-polymer netting roll, 2.0 m wide
TW-200
2.0 m × 40 m roll

Other widths and roll lengths can be produced to order. Send your run dimensions and we will calculate the roll count, allowing for overlap and wastage.

How it is made and checked

Every lot is sampled and recorded before release.

Do not take the numbers on faith

Three tests you can run on your own bench.

Flame test: blowtorch held against a high-polymer net panel

Flame test

Blowtorch, fifteen seconds

Hold a torch against the panel, then take it away. The net should stop burning on its own and must not drip molten material.

Blade test: utility knife worked across a single strand of netting

Blade test

Utility knife and shears

Work a knife across a single strand, then try heavy shears. Note how much force it takes to part one thread.

Load test: known weight hung from a strand to measure deflection

Load test

Known weight, measure deflection

Hang a known weight — a bucket of water works — from a strand. Measure how far it stretches, and whether it springs back.

A sample kit contains a 0.2 m² panel cut from production stock and is credited back in full against your first roll order.
